HOME – Limited Edition Coffee Table Box with Matches

Regular price $55.00

You are fire.
Dressed in fire.
Which of these fires can I withstand?

– Sayat Nova (18th century)

We were tired of searching for a matchbox each time we wanted to light a candle or burn incense papers. So, we designed a limited edition box with matches that you will want to proudly display, instead of hide away in a drawer.

Everything about this box is a QAMI JAN vibe. From its gold-accented emblem to its mulberry wax trim, to its soft magnetic closure, and inside, a paper lining that looks like Armenian rugs but is based on ancient manuscript paintings, along with 120 long slow-burning matches with gold handles in the Armenian flag tricolor (red, blue, orange). Draped in infinity symbols and the words of the Armenian troubadour Sayat Nova (1712-1795): "you are fire, dressed in fire." Who knew a matchbox could be all of these things?

- Limited edition of 17 boxes | each is numbered on the side
- Includes 4" slow-burning matches, gold-painted with Armenian tri-color tips
- Magnetic closure
- Strike on the back
- Box measures approximately 4.72 by 4.72 by 1.57"

*We cannot ship this item outside of the continental United States.

This box will outlive its matches. Refill with new matches, and use to store your incense papers, sewing needles, buttons, dreams, or anything else. It is a work of art.

Flammable; strike only with the box closed. Keep out of reach of children.

Always use matches in a well-ventilated area. The soot from burned matches may cause cancer and reproductive harm. www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

The Armenian people, worldwide, are in a state of despair. 100 years after the Armenian Genocide, we saw that the loss of our people, homeland, and culture has not ended, most recently with the violent uprooting of Artsakh. We founded QAMI JAN in 2022 to uplift your spirit, to create a renewed sense of hope and resistance. We do this by focusing on our ancient culture and supporting local artisans. We are not relics. We are very much alive. And we will return.

Please join us in sharing the QAMI JAN spirit.
