QAMI JAN is looking for a highly energetic, excited, creative, organized, and motivated individual or two individuals to design clothing and carry out all aspects of the production of clothing in/around Yerevan, Armenia. This individual will serve as the main point of contact for all aspects of design, from preliminary design sketches to the completion of production. Ideally, we would like to hire one individual to accomplish both jobs; however, we are open to two individuals to perform each job if necessary.

- Works with the founders to design clothes for upcoming seasons

- Works with the founders to create mood boards

- Designs sketches for new products with the founders

- Creates clothing patterns for production

- Tests and decides on available fabrics, colors, patterns, and textures for each design

- Selects fabrics and trims

- Maintains relationships with vendors, suppliers, and models

- Communicates technical design information for customer samples

- Oversees the prototype sample process

- Oversees the production of designs, including carrying out fittings

- Creates cost sheets and product lists

Requirements: must have experience in designing clothing


- Provides research on various factories and tailors in/around Yerevan to produce clothing for QAMI JAN founders

- Acts as the main point of contact between QAMI JAN and the factories/production team 

- Develops and executes styles from initial concept to production with founders

- Develops and sources in partnership with founders’

- Manages all samples to ensure their movement through the product development process in coordination with the development calendar

- Works with factories to achieve desired costing and margin goals without compromising design

- Travels to factories as needed to review seasonal development progress

- Strategically manages vendors to make sure sample deadlines are met

- Strategically manages in partnership with founders bill of material (BOMs), fabric and trim, issuing trials, tests, and color approvals

- Builds and maintains development calendar and cost charts for all categories

- Identifies and troubleshoots costing/quality control challenges along with design and resolves with vendors

- Negotiates the best cost with vendors

Requirements: must have experience in working with production factories in Armenia and relevant contacts at factories in Armenia
