During the assault on Artsakh in late 2020, it felt as if each Armenian in the diaspora was doing whatever they could to assist their homeland while processing the realization that we as a people once again face an existential threat. Taleen Setrakian created several paintings, imagining a world in which Armenians could live on their ancestral lands in peace. The proceeds from the sales of those paintings were donated to humanitarian relief. 

Although these images were born out of a period of trauma, they are hopeful. They are optimistic. They are bright.

Artist's Statement
If you think about it, no one can really take anything away from you as long as you make sure that it lives inside you. The truest way to realize art is through life. Or is it the other way around? The truest way to realize life is through art… 

As an Armenian, I will not accept defeat. 
Armenians will never be defeated. 
Armenians will live on forever…into the future–for as long as we have existed in the past.
